Color Theory Curriculum – 37 Mixing Lessons
is an introduction to the color theory domain. It lays the foundation for basic contemporary color concepts that lead to more advanced art skills in painting, drawing, and crafting.
Color appears in all areas of art study and is very significant to art literacy. Artists who don't understand the concepts of color theory mixing struggle in advanced painting and digital design.
This curriculum is designed in 37 Master Color Mixing Lessons in small, digestible parts—building one skill onto the next, in sequential order. Every lesson is curated as a guided introduction, with supporting extension activities for the student to explore and discover in process-based, hands-on, real-time experiences.
HOW IT WORKS:
Level 1 is the foundational lessons all artists should work through, in the correct sequence.
It doesn't matter if the student is in early childhood or upper elementary, any beginner to art starts at Level 1.
You can turn this into a full year curriculum with weekly lessons covering one sequence at a time or you can do six lessons throughout the year along with other art study curriculum. If a student has never had a color theory lesson, they should start from the very first lesson of this curriculum.
